World Reading Day – 05.02.2025
It is celebrated on the first Wednesday of February.
On the first Wednesday of February, the global community of book lovers celebrates World Reading Day, an idea introduced in 2010 by the LitWorld project.
This day is intended to stimulate interest in reading and is celebrated by promoting conversations and discussions about what they have read with family and friends. On this day, students gather at school, bring their favourite books and take part in bookcrossing, an exchange of literature.
In addition, the holiday includes a storytelling competition about school life, which children prepare for the day before, accompanying their work with colourful illustrations. This initiates a creative approach to learning and promotes the development of literary skills among students.
